Family Engagement Network

USCJ's Family Engagement Network is a cohort of Jewish professionals and lay leaders who are dedicated to engaging young families in Jewish life. Through webinars, symposia, and online communications, participants join together to share best practices and learn from experts in the field of family engagement.

Each cohort runs for one year. Over the course of the program year, each participating congregation will learn how to:

  • Create a vision for effective family engagement

  • Build the leadership and volunteer structures necessary to implement this vision

  • Foster a culture that prioritizes family engagement

  • Create a plan for meaningful programming that involves families in Jewish life and community

  • Set goals for family engagement initiatives

  • Identify and engage unaffiliated families

  • Plan effective marketing and social media strategies

  • Build community within the congregation’s young-family population

The Family Engagement Network offered me an opportunity to brainstorm new ways to engage young families and flesh out programs that would appeal to them. Knowing other congregations were grappling with the same challenges gave me the support I needed.
